Tyring To Make Black Face Positive

Hello To The Real World
And To The Not So Real World

I have to tell you about a black face story that is something. A 2nd grader named Sean King from Meridian Ranch Elementary School in Colorado Springs to dress as a historical figure as part of a school project  wanted to emulate someone that he admires, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Now this youngster admired what Dr. Martin Luther King stood for. A man who wanted equal rights for Black citizens of this country and for racial harmony and peace between the races of this country. I understand why this young man admires Dr. King because of all of this, so the boy admired Dr. King so much that he decided to paint his face black.
I do not believe this, but I am not mad at the kid. He sincerely did not mean to cause anyone any harm by doing this, but he has offended people. Sean has offended this school administration who it totally against what the has done, and the administration considers what he has done to be very racist.

I know many in my community feel that I should be very upset by all of this, but I am not. Sean King is truly a young man who wants equally for all in The United States, and he truly wants to pass the message of peace on to everyone in America. So, for those who do not agree with me on my view about this, take a look at the video footage in this blog posting any maybe you will see what I see, a kid with peaceful intent.

Have A Good Night......

Death of Hip Hop Legend MCA of The Beastie Boys

Hello To The Free World
And To The Not So Free World

Adam Yauch, better known to music fans as MCA died at the of 48 from cancer
MCA is one third of the legendary rap group The Beastie Boys
Along with Ad Rock and Mike D.
The Beastie Boys was the real first big white act in rap music
And not Vanilla Ice or Eminem
Besides from rap music, MCA was passionate in movements to free Tibet
He organized the Free Tibet Concerts in 2002.

I was a fan of the Beastie Boys music, especially in the 80's and 90's
I mean come on
Who did not like "Fight For Your Right To Party"
The song and the video was SO SO SO fun and even when the video came out
I was too young too party
But when I looked at the video I really wanted to party.

Another song I really loved was "Time To Get Ill."
Both songs came off the legendary album "License To Ill:
WHICH WAS VERY ILL OF AN ALBUM

Or you can say it was a very good album
I thought "Time To Get Ill"
WAS PURE PURE HIP HOP AND FUNKY AND SMOOTH
"License to Ill" was really one of the best rap albums of all time.

Probably the one song that really moved me from the great "Sabotage."
I loved this song so much because of the hard rock element in it
I always love when rap and hard rock mix together
I guess you could tell that I loved the collaboration between Public Enemy and Anthrax
But 'Sabatoge" was just so energetic, powerful and inspirational
What made it inspirational was the lyrics
"I Cant Stand It, I Know You Planned It" and "What You See You Might Not Get"
These lines sound like it relates to a corrupt United States government.

The Beastie Boys was really a group that talked about having fun
And they portrayed that
They were also a group that was into rhyming about social and political issues
And Adam Yauch was a prime example of this
His work to free Tibet was honorable and kind.

In The End I must  Say God Bless You Adam
For Your Musical, Film

And

Social Justice Contributions

Starbucks And The Bugs

 Welcome Back Free World
And Welcome Back To The Not So Free World

I am sorry that I have not done any blog post in a while, but it is good to be back
I have always been a fan of Starbucks beverages.I have not been a die hard fan where I would have a two beverages a day, only  three a week.I always love the caramel frappaccino, THAT IS MY DRINK! I just love the taste of the caramel and the whip cream mixed with the coffee. When I have a stressful day I would get the calm herbal tea to relax me and when it is a hot day I would get the passion tea sweetened. But one drink I never got was the drink with the bugs, yes the drink with the bugs. You see I found out this week that the Starbucks uses cochineal extract in some of their beverages and food products such as Strawberries; Creme Frappuccinos and Strawberry Banana Smoothies, as well as red velvet whoopee pie, raspberry swirl cake, pink-iced mini donuts. The extract is made up of crushed bugs. I have seen episodes of man vs. wild and "Fear Factor" I always wondered what it would be like to eat bugs, but I would not actually do it. I wonder if soldiers who are stranded in the wild have made strawberry drink by getting strawberries from the forest and crush some bugs to survive.. Did Starbucks get this idea to use the bug contained cochineal extract from the producers of "Man vs. Wild" and "Fear Factor." It is a good thing that Starbucks decided to remove the cochineal from its drinks so they would not have to gross out the die hard drinkers and eaters of the red velvet whoopee pie and I WONDER WHAT THIS PIE IS MADE OF. And the swirl cake and pink iced mini donuts. It was a good thing Change.org petitioned the extract. I do not find it tempting or satisfying to have
