The United States is facing a MAJOR, MAJOR, MAJOR problem of child obesity. Probably the sad thing about child obesity is many schools in The United States are taking away health and fitness programs. But do you know what is the real thing that is preventing kids from excercsing?  
The answer is VIDEO GAMES.

Playstation 1,2,3,
 X-Box,  
Nintendo WII 
Online games like the very time consuming and addicting "World of Warcraft". These games are one of the reasons why kids have become obese. Kids do not want to go outside and play any more, they want to stay inside and any enjoy the brand new cool graphics of video games.  Plus, if you add on the social media sites such as Face Book and MySpace, it is more enticing to stay in  the house and communicate with friends. You  do not even have to communicate with your friend face to face, you can do it through a computer monitor, computer screen or cell phone screen. New technology has made it so convenient now that you do not have to move from your room to have a good time.

I am someone who truly loves some of the new technology tools, but now some of these technological tools are consuming the lives of kids. They are barely using energy at all  and  you can't you use much energy if you are couped up in a room for hours playing games and chatting with your friends on Facebook. Since I am bringing up Facebook, I am very social person. I love to actually approach new people and to interact with them. To me there is nothing more fun than having a great conversation with someone face to face, especially a woman. But that is another topic. Do not get me wrong, I do feel that social media tools such as Facebook and MySpace are great tools when it comes to promoting services of business, in this way it has great value

So for me Facebook and other social media sites are taking away from the days of face to face conversation and actually building real friends. On Facebook, you have 100 friends and half of them are not really your actual friends.

But on the real, something has got to be done to get kids to be more physically active. I do not mean physically active by playing, NINTENDO WII SPORTS ACTION GESTURE GAMES . I means kids taking at least 3 times a day to work out at a gym, park or area that has some type of equipment. Kids need to take more  time to cut back on junk food and eat more fruits and vegetables and drink more water instead of alot of sodas.  I NEED TO DO THIS ALSO.

I am not to going to put blame on the parents, I want to put the blame on school administrations in The United States who are cutting fitness programs and who are allowing school lunch rooms in this country to serve  kids pizza,hamburgers,tacos and other forms of junk food. There are many fast food chains that make money from giving schools their junk food. So I am really putting the blame on school administrations.  Something has to be done to save the health of kids.

Is Jesus Coming Back?

Hello To The Free World & The Not So Free World

Here is the big question, Is Jesus Coming Back? Will Jesus come back to take his claim as lord of the world and to rid the world of sin as it is proclaimed in the Bible. Will there be The Armagedon, the end of the world? I do not mean to scare people but what is going on with rhe world. A few months ago there was the major Earthquake in Japan that physically wrecked the country and emotional wrecked the citizens there who have never been a part of such a terrible Earthquake. Now you are having floods and tornadoes which are destroying areas in the mid west region of The United States. Now for the first time in 50 years,
Lorca, Spain had a major Earthquake.

I mean if you add up the list of major natural disasters in the last 5-6 years, it has been something, Hurricane Katrina, The Hurricane in Haiti, The GP Oil Spill, these are just to name a few. So I ask again what is going on? Are these signs for what is supposed to be "The Coming of Jesus." the end of the world? Hollywood says that the end of the world be in 2012, I hope not for the sake of the world, plus that is when I turn 35. So I would like to have a fun birthday. These natural disasters have quietly calmed down the  talk about thecapture of Osama Bin Laiden.

I just have never seen so much natural disasters occur successively at this rate in my life. I just thought that I would not see the powerful Japan have a major quake and to see the people be so vulnerable. I know that Japan has always given off the impression where everyone is strong willed and tough, but the fact of the matter is they are human beings firs.t So, it does not matter who you are in this world, an Earthquake that measures 7.1 is very tough for people to handle. The sad part is that last month Japan had another earthquake. I mean how much can people take.

Even though I have been living in California for 3 years, I am not really kept up to date on what is going on in the North East region of The United States where I used to live, and recently I was told about floods and terrible storms in The North East. Back in my old home town of New York City, a gentleman I met out here in California who is from Bronx, NY told me that New York had one of it worst winter seasons ever.

So are all of signs of the "Second Coming of Jesus?" Is the world coming to an end soon and how will it happen?  Will there be continuous natural disasters in the world, month after month? Is there something we can do as a people to better our world as Al Gore suggested that we do or is all of this God's will. If it is God's will then it is God's will. There is supposed to be something great that comes out of all of this. But all is this is really scary.

A Seal Who Did Not Fly

I am calling this post, A Seal Who Did Not Fly. I am calling it because, have you ever seen The Navy Seals logo?. In the logo is a eagle with its wings out. The bird represents the strength of The Naval Seals. It is represented as an great American military unit. This was the unity which captured Osama Bin Laden, so you know they are great. But there was one man in Pennsylvania who thought they were so great, that he lied about being an actual Navy Seal. This man lied to the point of being a Navy Seal, that he pretended  to be a character from the Steven Segal movie Under Siege. Under Siege is a great action movie. If you have not seen it, check it out.

In the movie, Steven Segal plays an ex-Navy Seals who is finishing out his last years of service before he retires as a ship's cook. Then the ship is hijacked by Tommy Lee Jones and his band of bad boys. I have never been in the Navy or maybe I forgot how the ship gets taken "Under Siege, but it is something how 7 guys take control of a ship with over 100 hundred trained military sailors. THINK ABOUT IT, BUT THAT IS THE MOVIES. In the end Steven Segal saves the day and rids the ship of Tommy Lee Jones and his crew.

This post is about Jim Moats who is a pastor, I say it again a pastor at Christian Bible Fellowship Church in Newville, Pennsylvania. This man faked being a Naval Seal. With all of the praise to The Naval Seals for capturing Bin Laden, Mr. Moats wanted to get some time of praise also, so he faked being a seal. So a preacher who lied, it is nothing new but it is unfortunate. Mr. Moats claimed during his time as a Navy Seal, he was water boarded and he was made to wash dishes when got  in trouble. when he was going through Navy Seal trained at Little Creek Amphibious Base in Virginia Beach, VA in 1971.

Mr. Moats was in The Navy from 1971-1974, but he was never a Seal and he never fought in Vietnam. He  never qualified to be a Navy Seal. He also claimed that  he won The Navy Seal's highest honor, The Trident Medal. He soon confessed the medal he has was also a fake which he brought from a military supply store.

So this story is about one man's dream of becoming a Navy Seal, but it just did not come true. There are many people in the world who pretend to be something or someone they always wanted to be so Mr. Jim Moats wanted to be a Navy Seal. It is almost like alot of boys who want to be Superman, so they pretend to be Superman. They put on the cape, which is a towel and have the blue tights, which are actually blue briefs and socks that closely resembled red or had some red in it.

To me what hurts the most about this story is that it is not a little boy who is playing out a fantasy, but it is a full grown man, who happens to be a pastor.. One of the few people on Earth that you hope would not lie. This is one of the funniest and saddest stories I have heard this year so far. No one wants to be lied to to but it was not nice for this man to pretend to be something that he wasn't. Hopefully he will asked  The Lord for forgiveness and not do this again. Not to judge Mr. Moats, but I should also ask the lord for forgiveness of my sins because I make mistakes just like Jim Moats. But to conclude, of all Navy movies to use, why "Under Siege". It was a great movie, but he could've used the movie "Navy Seals" which  happens to star,Charlie Sheen. And no I am not trying to promote Charlie Sheen, but the movie Navy Seals was a great portrayal of this elite unit.

A Totally Dramatic Way To Handle Bullying

With my blogs I am trying to keep up to date with current news stories that happen

This is a story that happened last month, but it  is one of the most interesting stories, I have ever heard about bullying. The story is about young Samantha Shaw who had surgery on her ears which was recommended by her mom, so her daughter would not be judged or teased. Samantha's condition was more than just having big ears. She had a serious condition with her ears that needed to be fixed.

The doctor who performed the surgery felt that what the child had was not plastic surgery.It was something far more serious.And he does not support minor cosmetic surgery to stop bullying. The great thing about the surgery was that it was free of charge. The bill was paid by The Baby Face Foundation. I have not done my research on this organization but I wonder if they do facial work for minority children from low income backgrounds.

You can understand a mother wanting to get surgery for a serious condition that could heavily affect the well being of her child, but it was interesting how the mother claimed that it was adults who were making comments about her daughter's ears. It was not fellow classmates and the girl so far has not been bullied about her ears. So my question is, Is The Mother Going Too Far With Her Claim Of Adults Making Wrongful Comments About Her Daughters Ears And The Child Has Not Been Actually Bullied.

I could understand a mother not wanting their kids to be picked on, and it is not right to be picked on because of your ears, if you are fat, WHICH IS THE THING KIDS PICKED ON ME ABOUT IN SCHOOL. Whether if you are really tall, Black or if you are a girl, IT IS NOT RIGHT! I would talk to my children on the proper ways to handle situations if they were being pick on (BULLIED) but when it comes to little Samantha I think the most important thing is to get that surgery for the sake of her health.

Plus, I know that there are so many big ear jokes out there, but as the following video you are going to see from ABC news on Samantha Shaw, some of the most famous people in the world have big ears. It did not stop them from becoming a success in life. Plus, when it comes to probably one of the most the important things in the world and that is having a CAREER, I just have never heard of someone not getting a job because they have big ears.

(Depending on what the woman looks like, body and facial features)

3. If you have a criminal record

4. If you have a disability 

5. If you are over weight

For many of you who will read my blog posts you are probably wondering WHY!Why  is the theme to this blog is called News In The House of Chaos And Hope. I wanted to create a blog which talked about news
and about issues we as people in the world are facing..The House of Chaos And Hope is just a metaphoric representation of life .The world is a house of chaos, look at the problems people are facing across the world.

From the major conflict in Lybia,. the horrific floods and tornados in the south mid west of The United States that has destroyed so many areas.the earthquakes in Japan that has destroyed so many areas along with the destruction of Japan's nuclear/toxic plants and the toxic waste is being release from the plants
MY GOD!

Plus, we can't forgot about the death of Osama Bin Laden and let me tell you as a 9/11 survivor.THANK YOU JESUS AND JUSTICE WAS SERVED! Unfortunate things happen to good people fortunate things happen to bad people. It is a crazy world and if you try to make sense of it YOU WILL GO CRAZY! But there is always hope when it comes to your life  and whatever higher power you believe in,it can give you hope just as long as what you believe in is legal. Do not make drugs and alcohol your God where you worship it,,giving you false hopes and dreams then you realize that it was not a God that you were worshiping it was a Devil.

So in life there is always hope and if you keep dreaming and believing you will receive it. Speaking of life since technology has become a way a life for just about everything that we do,I wonder if in the next twenty or thirty years will the world be like the Terminator movies? I know this may seem like a crazy thought but would
the world be in a state of technology obsession. People running to the nearest Best Store to get the newest gadget.I know people who went out to get the new IPAD-2 when they only had the IPAD-1 for only a year.

As I mentioned before in a previous post I love new technology but I do not go out of my way to make sacrifices to get them.I do not rush to Best Buy like it is the end of the world.Would technology trickle down to the point where computers completely take over the world.Would man's great idea of using technology to have a more better life,BACK FIRE IN ITS FACE THINK ABOUT IT.

New Technology

At 33 years old, I never thoughtI would be connected to
So many new technological devices.
There are new technologies being developed every day.
At first I was just contempt with a cell phone and a computer
Now there is the IPOD, The MP3 Player, The IPAD, Skype, Smart Phone.
The world has really changed.
It may sound alot but I really love using these new devices.
There was one time I was really old school in my ways
But I have come to my senses and I now realize that new technology is the way.
I do not have an IPAD but I am considering getting  the Samsung Galaxy Pad.
I just love the size of it and it is something that I could easily put in my bag.

I do not have an IPAD, but I do have an MP3 Player
I-POD's are good,
But I just feel that MP3 Players are more easy to manage
And completely free when it comes to getting music
I feel that I can  easily download music from alot of sources
As compared to the I-Pod.
I hope that I am right for saying this.
I do not need to get special software like you need for the I-POD.

Skype is something that I am using and I think it is a great tool.
With Skype you can connect with people from long distances
You can see them
Talk to them
..
Skype and other forms of distance communicating is
A very popular trend now,
Especially for corporations who want to train new employees.

Now many corporations want to save money
By delivering training
courses by way of
Skype or Skype related devices.
Also,they do not have to spend money for plane tickets to fly in trainees.

Probably the scariest thing about new technology is the social media sites
Sites such as My Space, Twitter and Face Book has cause some problems
These sites has lead to a large causes of "cyber bullying." and slandering people on line.

Slandering people on line has lead to the suicides of teens and adults.
It is sad that with these social media sites
You can't stop a person from saying horrible things.

These sites are meant to be for pleasant social interactivity
But it has been used as a device to ruin the reputation of people
It has been a device  used to hurt people to the point of depression
It has been a device to used that has lead people to their deaths.

Another major concern of social media sites is how it
Is taking over many families.
When it comes to communication
Many teens are spending a lot of hours communicating on sites
Such as Face Book.
Many teens do not actually want to talk to their parents face to face
They want to communicate on line with their friends.
So the unity in the family is some what diminishing.


When using social media sites like MySpace and Face Book
You have to be very careful of what you say and who you accept as friends.
I personally just use Face Book to help promote my club
So for me it is just for business.

Probably the scariest thing about new technology that  bothers me
Is the cut back on jobs.
With new technology, computers and machines
Are doing the jobs people used to do.
Especially in the service industry
Such as supermarkets
There are a lot of supermarkets that have automatic checkout
Checkout where you do not need an actual cashier.

In major cities like New York and Los Angeles
When you want a pass to take a train
There are machine where you can get your train pass
You do not need to get it from a clerk in a booth.

So on one hand it is great to have new technological devices
It can make your life more easy and convenient
But on the other hand it can lead to problems releasing unwanted information
It can lead to the problem of taking away jobs
Jobs that used to belong to people for years.
